Correct!
5. Normal suggesting chronic respiratory disease is unlikely
The patient’s spirometry, lung volumes and diffusing capacity are all normal. These make a chronic respiratory condition such as interstitial lung disease, chronic obstructive lung disease or restrictive lung disease secondary to an uncommon condition such as neuromuscular weakness (e.g., diaphragm paralysis, myasthenia gravis) unlikely (2). Intermittent obstructive lung disease such as asthma is not excluded by normal complete pulmonary function testing (2).
