About the Author
Dr. Salma Imran Patel is an Internal Medicine Resident at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. She received her M.D. and M.P.H. from the University of Arizona. Dr. Patel was born and raised in Tanzania. She has great interest in mentoring students of underprivileged backgrounds. Dr. Patel wrote a pipeline mentoring program while in medical school for underprivileged high school students which, is still active at the University of Arizona- Phoenix. She loves practicing medicine and particularly interacting with patients. She is also actively involved in clinical research.
